Labor Day is not about just picnics and parades. It’s a day to celebrate & reflect on the vital work of the labor movement & all unions have done to help build the middle class. As an advocate for working families, I’ll always stand up for a stronger middle class & their rights.

Gina and Jeremy were out at the Back-to-School Block Party at Jackson Charter School. There were great resources, food, and lots of fun for families and neighbors. Such a great time as students prepare for the school year and get to meet their new teachers.

Yesterday, my team was at Ken Rock Community Center with the Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging for their Senior Pop-Up Fair. It was great to see our seniors and caregivers connecting with dozens of vital organizations and resources.

The 1st Annual Live at Levings BlackFest! It’s BACK! It is so important that we celebrate our culture, not just for the Black community, but for all communities. It’s important that we are exposed to, learn from and appreciate other cultures! I congratulate Live at Levings!

This funding will support major infrastructure upgrades for 150 homes and community facilities right here on Rockford’s West Side. More than bricks and mortar, this is about investing in people—in stability, dignity, and the future of a community that continues to inspire me.
