All in all, there is no right way to start. Just make sure you're patient with yourself, and don't bite off more than you can chew! Celebrate the little victories.

And I don't mean pick sewing or foam work as a skill, get specific so it doesn't feel daunting. Like "I want to make neat seams with foam", or "I want to learn how to hand sew on a button". If you pick a couple to learn each time, you're gonna build out a massive skill tree!.

So for me, I just tell people to start with something that feels comfortable, but with just enough challenge so that you're learning stuff even on your first project!. Pick one skill, and focus on learning that. You can get GOOD at it later.

You are allowed to go all out at a small event, or start with a simple cosplay at a huge event. It doesn't matter as long as YOU are having fun. I always personally recommend starting small with your build though. Cosplay can be overwhelming, both in making it AND wearing it.

It actually looks like CSM now though and not just generic mappa art style. Not that it looked BAD before, but I like how skrunkly Denji looks in fujimotos art style lmfaoo.

I'm not saying this to sound full of myself or anything, I've just had a lot of really bad experiences with strangers in DMs. But I also want to make it publicly know that I am not just ignoring you to be mean :S.

Just a reminder: I typically don't answer DMs on here from people I don't know!. And I will never answer them if they just say "I have a question", or a variation on that. Just ask what you want up front so I can decide if the DM has to be answered 🫶.
