Since incorporation, Starbase has been operating quickly and efficiently to build the best community possible. Today the City Commission reviewed the proposed zoning map and comprehensive zoning ordinance to guide our city’s growth:

Starbase City officials are tracking and are actively supporting the response at the Starship's testing site, alongside Cameron County, our other local and regional partners, and SpaceX. There are no hazards to residents in the area. We will continue to provide updates.

The Starbase City Commission has officially declared May 29 as Starbase Day! We're excited to have a dedicated day each year to celebrate our community.

It’s official: Starbase is now an incorporated city in Texas. With local governance in place, we are excited to continue building the best city for our community.

Just as importantly, we are working with relevant federal agencies to complete the process of assigning Starbase a new ZIP code and officially renaming the area. At that point, residents of Starbase will be able to update your driver’s license!.

Once the canvas is complete, the final results go to the Cameron County Commissioners Court for certification. Certification makes the election results and the city official! We expect this to occur in mid‑May.

Over the next week, the Cameron County Election Supervisor will formally canvass the election results to confirm that all valid ballots cast in the election are accurately counted and included in the final results.
