Sure Start was one of the biggest successes of the Blair and Brown Labour governments. It made an enormous difference to children and families. The Tories scrapped much of its work during their 14 years. Brilliant news that @bphillipsonMP is bringing it back.

Ironic really Zia Yusuf resigns as chair of Reform comes back and they copy Trump and Musk with DOGE. His new role is to form a review of budgets and waste in councils. Before the review is started properly they are wasting money.
Reform UK are defending seats in by-elections this week, because their councillors stood down, wasting taxpayer money. Newark West, Nottinghamshire saw Desmond Clarke stand down after just 6 days - costing around £25k to re-run it. Don't reward Reform UK for their poor vetting.
