About the initial question - event- or signal-contigent sampling: It seems that the two deliver overall similar results, but event-contingent sampling captures more social interactions and partners, so also people participants are not interacting with very frequently. 👥💬

‼️ Turns out interaction partners are a valuable level to consider in analyses. Including, for example, social role of an interaction partner explained up to 20.5% of variance in the quality of social interactions ‼️

I am also using Notion as the main organisation tool for my PhD - it is amazing to store (meeting) notes, keep track of tasks as well as projects and manage references via a direct integration with Zotero. The best part about Notion: everything can be linked!

We explored two different ways of combining the two methods: (A) ESM -> PSN and (B) PSN -> ESM -> PSN. Both are feasible, but differ in burden and are suited for different study purposes. 🧐

We integrated a PSN assessment in https://t.co/jo2FjU4ya5! Our first study shows the combination is feasible. Across 23 students and 28 days we recorded information about 1714 social interactions and 1004 network members. Plus: participants enjoyed the study.🥳
