For our 'Road Safety Week' coffee morning we were joined by PCSO Iain Tuft and Allan Mandindi from @MCCWhalleyRange. We discussed safer parking around school, road and vehicle safety and why '20 is plenty' on our Whalley Range roads #roadsafetyweek2025

With Paula and Violaine @MancLibraries we learnt about the causes and consequences of our actions and their impact on our planet. We created a Climate Fresk to show how rising temperatures will affect the biodiversity, food production, climate and habitats of the world.

Our Litter Monitors learnt about the dangers of litter and micro-plastics from Zoe and Suzanne @keepmcrtidy1 and Mark @Biffa and we were joined by our Neighbourhood Officer Allan @MCCWhalleyRange as we set off to clean the streets around school. Litter is our responsibility!

Our Year 5 children had a fantastic experience meeting the local Fire Service! They learned all about fire safety, emergency procedures, and how to stay safe—an unforgettable and educational day for everyone!

The Green Team children were in awe of the huge operation at Longley Lane Recycling centre. We learnt how plastic bottles, glass and cans are separated and also the importance of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. #recycle #uselessplastic @recycle4gm @EcoSchools

This week, Year 2 visited Rev Tom at St Margaret's Church. The children discussed the importance of the Bible to Christians. Thanks, as always to Rev Tom for his hospitality.

Year 2 have started their new scientific unit. We ordered and compared life cycles of different species.

In Year 4, we have been learning how to use clay to create clay pots, just like the Ancient Greeks did. We used different techniques like pinching and coiling to create the pots.

Our Numeracy course with Manchester Adult Education allows parents and their children to explore fun ideas to improve numeracy skills at home. Our Year 3 parents and children enjoyed making times tables flowers this week.

Our Early Reading Coffee Morning, led by Ms. Hudson-Jones, was well attended and provided plenty of valuable advice on phonics, decoding, and comprehension.
