Our Environmental Enforcement team has successfully prosecuted a fly-tipper who dumped a large amount of waste on a quiet country road. Magistrates ordered the offender to pay more than £2,600. More info:

More than 60 people took part in the ancient custom of Beating the Bounds yesterday with the Mayor of St Albans. The Mayor, Cllr Jamie Day, led a procession along the historic boundaries of the City in a ceremony that dates back to 1327. More information:

A popular footpath by the River Ver in St Albans has re-opened ahead of schedule after major repairs were completed. Part of the trail, between Cottonmill Lane and Sopwell Mill open space, had become eroded and had collapsed into the river. More info:
