#MTSS in @SpringISD Playing chess during lunch supports PBIS within the MTSS framework by promoting positive student behavior, strategic thinking, self-regulation, and peer collaboration. It’s a Tier 1 proactive support that reinforces positive choices and builds social skills.

Generic praise like “good job” or “nice work” often falls flat. It may feel supportive, but it doesn’t tell students what they did well or how they can build on their success. Clear, specific reinforcement is essential for building self-awareness for all scholars.
