NOT a 'Save Splash' page. 🪕⛰️💦 Fascinated by theme park design and animatronics. (I'm also a cynical prick most of the time.)

Anti-Splashers will rush to defend the NAACP's negative stance on SotS, but will completely dismiss their positive stance on Splash. So their opinions from the 40s are valid, but their opinions from the 80s aren't because "times change"?. Make it make sense.
Oh so the NAACP doesn’t matter anymore? Again y’all only care about our opinions when it benefits you, isn’t that right Judy?.

Pixie dusters will make shitty, tasteless posts like this all the time, yet they can't handle an ounce of criticism towards TBA and think the bunny rabbit log flume is "offensive".
Imagine being a childless man who spends every day going to Disney and joking about animals loosing their habitat because something offends you. @ClckbaitCorless I found Tommy Jr.

This is a common misinterpretation I see way too often. "Disney will never bring back the Br'ers because yadayada-". We know. We're not in denial of that, we are aware Disney doesn't want to use the characters anymore. Out point is that what Disney is doing is immoral.
@ButtercupPB @tcmack568 @BrerOswald @SplashFan2000 We aren’t denying the reality that the Splash critters are used no where currently, we’re saying we think it’s WRONG that they aren’t. I don’t know if you know that.

People seem to forget just how well the 30th anniversary merch sold. I remember praying they still had the plushies in stock during my visit because I had seen how fast they were selling. 😭. (And this was before the scalper raids started after the re-theme announcement.).
@ButtercupPB @KateFisher96 @SplashFan2000 @BrerOswald And Splash merch used to sell REALLY well . you can get Tiana merch literally anywhere, while Splash merch was park exclusive.it was hella popular and always sold well.

We're currently living in this bizarre timeline where 30+ year olds are telling people in their teens-20s to "get with the times.". I thought it was supposed to be the other way around?.
@aygueyestasfeo @SplashFan2000 @BrerOswald You do know that a good amount of us who grew up with splash are gen z/millenials right? Splash came out in the 90s. You are older than I am and I loved splash it was a childhood ride for me.

To further add to this, "kids like it" also isn't an excuse to feed them mindless crap. Yes, kids like skibidi toilet and cocomelon, but they also like things that are smart, creative and have passion and effort put into them. See the original Thomas series for proof of that.
The problem with the "kids like it" argument is that kids like anything as long as it's fun and engaging for them. Kids like Splash because fun water ride with bright colors. Kids like PotC because cool pirates. Kids like BTM because fast train.

@BrerOswald You could use the “kids like it” argument for pretty much everything. What about the kids that like TSI?.

It's the Cocomelon generation, man. Take away the noise, movement and bright colors for 5 seconds and they start having a fucking crisis because their brains just have not been trained to slow down and actually engage with the world around them.
By the way, this is precisely why they’re replacing scenic Rivers of America and imaginative Tom Sawyer Island with a f*cking Cars ride. The children and man children of America can’t sit for ONE second without having their dopamine receptors stroked.

Most Splash fans I know don't give a single fuck about SotS. It's possible to like Splash while also acknowledging the movie that inspired it hasn't aged well in a lot of aspects. Hell, even liking SotS doesn't make you a bad person, in the same way liking Peter Pan doesn't.
I would probably respect the Splash Mountain people if they only used the context of the ride and their nostalgia as reasons why they miss the ride because by all means it’s a phenomenal ride and I miss it (though it did have to go). But roping Song of the South in…. .
