Had great time at Spilsby Bike Night last night. So good to see the town full of people not only interested in bikes but what we do and getting hands on some tools to show how we do it!

Would you be able to get out of your home with your eyes shut? Smoke from a fire can be very thick and black – plan and practise an escape route! If you have a fire, get everyone out and call 999. Remember, don’t go back in! #EscapePlan #GetOutStayOut

Testing one of our local hydrants along with our light portable pump to ensure we have everything we need in full working order. This can also be used as an observation for our development firefighter.

Last night we welcomed Spilsby Squirrels (this is for children aged between 4 and 6 years old) They learnt about smoke detectors, escape plans and how to keep low if there was smoke in a room. Plus of course we squirted some water! Brilliant fun had by all. @2ndSpilsby

Flipping Heck! Did you know that cooking is the number one cause of accidental fires in the home? Be alert while cooking don't get distracted and always turn off appliances once you have finished with them PS do you know what the best pancake topping is? ..More pancakes !! :)

Last night we took advantage of the mind evening by brushing up on our pumping skills. Water taken from river via light pump into a improvised dam then into our main pump to supply a main jet to fight fire.

This weekend we updated our training on using Cold Cut Cobra a very useful bit of kit. If you want to know about it just ask! We also drilled on BA set removal during a simulated persons reported rescue. No pictures of that one as was very dark and smoke filled !
