What a transformation.😁 This is what invasive species control can do in less than a year!. The 1st picture was taken in August 2023 before treatment. The 2nd picture was taken this month (May 2024) and shows the huge improvements made in less than a year.👍. #InvasiveSpeciesWeek

When it comes to restoring our rivers, we need more information about how they're doing. 🙏. This weekend, the Big River Watch is back and you can help by providing information about the Spey.😁. Download the app by searching for "Big River Watch".#BigRiverWatch @theriverstrust

We are absolutely blown away by these phenomenal posters.👏. As part of our #SalmonintheClassroom programme, pupils at two local primary schools were tasked with creating posters about the Salmon lifecycle. 😁. We couldn't have been more impressed with the results!

We are very lucky to have @SISI_project working hard to tackle invasives within the Spey Catchment. Last year we watched as they went to war with a huge area of Japanese knotweed beside the Spey. Check out their blog below to find out how they tackle large areas of invasives.
How do you tackle a field (or several fields) of giant hogweed or Japanese knotweed?.In the lower reaches of the Findhorn, Lossie & Spey catchments are dense, interlocking forests of hogweed & knotweed. Treating these infestations is a daunting prospect and it would take. 1/2

Earlier this week, the second Spey salmon of the season was caught at Arndilly, with a Cascade Conehead. What a beautiful 14lb springer! 👏. Well done to the lucky angler Kevin Barron, pictured here alongside ghillie Keith Mclaren being presented with their prizes😁. #speysalmon

We have just started our latest #SalmonintheClassroom programme - one of the most rewarding & important things we do each year.🙌 . Can you imagine how exciting it will be for the pupils as they watch hundreds of eggs hatch into Alevin, before releasing them into local burns.
