Don't listen if you don't want, but fertiliser is becoming too expensive to waste. Soil site selection --> Good sampling technique --> Good results --> Non-biased data based decisions Keep as much margin as possible #jfg #deeperisbetter

Very cool to see advances in soil testing, and in particular, in turnaround time. Running this for a couple of weeks. The future might be here! #jfg #deeperisbetter

You cant pick good soil sites without good data. You cant take good samples without good methods. Leverage soil maps for better knowledge. This moves you towards better longer term decision making. Let the best methods have the most influence. #jfg #deeperisbetter

The best time to soil survey your farm is when you first buy it. Saves YEARS of guessing, wasted time and resources. Design your plans and attack the targets. Also,if your soil samples dont have variety like this, then you may want to rethink your methods! #jfg #deeperisbetter

Gamma radiometric potassium map really picking the eyes out of the clay % in these soils. Harvest not over, but summer jobs have started. #jfg #deeperisbetter

You can take a sensible VR approach to your lime, gypsum, deep ripping, spading, drainage, soil wetter, potash, phosphorus, nitrogen etc etc etc. Now ask yourself, what is that worth per hectare? #jfg #deeperisbetter
VRT Solutions has been providing EM and gamma radiometric soil mapping, variable rate (VR) application service and INDEPENDENT consultancy for 7+ years across WA. Here's 5 simple reasons why mapping your soils is a solid move for farm management:

Tricky grain and high fertiliser prices make QUALITY soil data intrinsically more valuable to your business. Implementing strategic soil sampling by zones guides your inputs for the best benefit. #jfg #deeperisbetter

South Australian soils are varied, but a soils based variable rate approach will help optimise inputs. Get started or lose another year, its up to you! #jfg #deeperisbetter

A serious discussion is required on soil sampling and the methods. The current ag industry needs better data, not antiquated methods from the 1980s. Throwing your $$ at 0-10cm samples is often misleading, and plays you into the hands of fearmongers and salespeople. BE

Save the WA farming industry potentially $340 million. Potash prices going up. What to do? 19.3m hectares zoned for variable rate potash. This is where the industry needs to head in order to cost control. #jfg #deeperisbetter

The Stats Module lets you inspect correlations between their map layers and the soil test results, which should provide insight into soil contraints, nutritional levels or areas of interest. This step is crucial for the user to classify zones for VR applications @vrtsolutions

The 3D module changes how you look at data layers. Look at your data layers in 3D, explaining the why! The 3D module allows the user an interactive look at their data layers. There is a water flow layer, showing water accumulates. Great for drainage planning! @vrtsolutions

The Soil module provides a great overview of your soil mapping data layers, and the soil test results from the sites selected. You can view your maps, soil sample locations, review your soil test results from your 0-10cm, A Horizon and B Horizon samples. @vrtsolutions
