Got a chance to sit down and talk with future MSU PG Jeremy Fears, Jr. (23’) about his basketball roots, the kind of player he is, why he ultimately chose Tom Izzo and the Spartans and who he’s hoping to bring with him. The program landed another DAWG.

Only spot in question is SG. I think both play 25+ but Kur Teng starting the year would not be surprising from what I’ve heard.

Big swing factor to the frontcourt this year. Excited to see the offensive versatility at the spot.
Had another great May with Michigan State’s Jesse Mcculloch @JesseMcCulloch4 at 6’10 with a tremendous work ethic he is super skilled and smooth. Very promising four years ahead of him

They got bigger and more athletic on the wings. REB should in theory be better. I have shot creation and overall offensive concerns heading into the season but the foundation of what the team was at its core parts last year sans Jase creation (which was special) is very similar.

They were the #1 D and the #1 O/D REB team last year in conf and return their starting frontcourt. Smaller sample size but in 142 possessions Carr/Kohler/Cooper ORB over half of their possessions, shot 57.1% from 2FG and got to the FT line 42%. Shoutout @B1GBasketball1

As the Big Ten preseason lists continue to come out it’s astounding to me what little respect MSU is garnering after blowing out the league last year. I get they lost a lot of guard depth but the core continuity for what they were last year remains. Defend, REBOUND, Run.

Get in a long line for this one but the 7FTer would have a clear runway for PT immediately at MSU. Doesn’t hurt that Carlos Medlock, JR will be his PG this year at Link. Would love to see him on campus for grind week and introduce him to the three C’s MSU has playing in the NBA.

Medlock Jr averaged 21.1 PPG, 2.9 APG, 4.1 RPG on 47/36/79 splits shooting 5.5 3FGA per game on the Adidas circuit this summer. Three level bucket getter who plays with a chip. Re-establishes home recruiting turf. Big land for the good guys.

Medlock had an insane EYBL season. Looking like an in state battle and getting him on campus when all the pros are back is a big advantage.
