Decentralisation is the only thing that matters. Then you can worry about the scripting, functionality, speed, throughput and scalability of your chain. But if you are not decentralised none of that matters - you simply have a broken database. Ergo - Minima.

Blockchains are slow, clunky and expensive. You would not use one if the system were not decentralised - a single server is thousands of times faster and cheaper and easier to manage. That's why centralised blockchains are useless - they serve no purpose.

Blockchains allow you to come to consensus in a decentralised environment. This is the only solution we have to the Byzantine Generals Problem. This is the piece of the puzzle we did not have before. Ergo - Decentralisation requires Blockchain.

There are no Centralised censorship resistant systems because centralised systems are so easy to attack. Centralisation breaks your ability to resist censorship attacks. This is inherent in all centralised systems. Ergo - Censorship Resistance requires Decentralisation.

No Freedom of Speech - if someone can stop you talking. No Freedom of Assembly - if someone can stop you meeting your friends and peers. No Monetary Freedom - if someone can stop your transaction or debase the money . Ergo - Freedom requires Censorship Resistance.

Freedom. When you say it out loud. it can sound strange. people roll their eyes. But it is as natural as breath and just as important. 🧵.

PoW is useful and valuable in and of itself. It is a commodity - Gold. PoS is valuable only because it is useful. It is an equity - shares in a company. When you derive your value solely from being useful when you stop being useful you stop being valuable.

PoW is scarce. Every PoW chain uses Work ( Energy) that could be used on another PoW chain. There is a finite amount of PoW. PoS is not scarce. One PoS chain does not affect any other. There is infinite PoS. Value requires scarcity. ( Usefulness is a different quality ).

When evaluating decentralisation the total number of Users involved in the construction of the chain - does not matter. Only the size of the cartel that owns 51% of the mining matters - since that is where the attack will take place. validation ( important ) - plays no part.

If it were possible to achieve censorship resistance without decentralisation - we would have done it by now. Satoshi showed us how to come to consensus in a decentralised environment. Before - it was simply not possible. That was the Power of the Gift given to us.

When we speak of the 'Security of a Blockchain' we are referring to a single ability. It's ability to resist censorship attacks. That's it. Signatures and scripting are a different problem. There is only one way of achieving censorship resistance . Decentralisation. 🧵⬇️.

Crypto governance is oxymoronic. If your Crypto requires governance - it's broken.

Good morning, there is no governance process for changing Bitcoin or making decisions. Generally, governance is a bad thing for freedom and is used to allow a subset of people to enforce things that the outside group does not want. Governance is Violence. 1/6

Thousand years from now. If you're the last person on earth running Minima. Minima works. You're not running a light client. You're not running a wallet. You're running everything. You're running Minima. #minima.

When you come for the King - you'd best not miss. That which does not kill him only makes him stronger. Either way my conscience is clear. Test your metal against a worthy opponent - there is nothing greater. #minima.
