Yes it snowed. Yes it’s slick, even if you have front wheel drive, all wheel drive, a lift kit, 10 ply mud terrains, ceramic brake pads or your car was in a cool commercial thrashing in the snow. Please allow more space between vehicles, slow down and drive friendly.

Please join us in congratulating Pete Krall as the new Chief of Police at SPD. On 06-24-19 he was sworn in as Chief by Mayor Pro Tempore Ed Lawson. Chief Krall started at the Sparks Police Department in 1994 and worked his way through the ranks. Congrats Chief.

Sadly, a member of our Mounted Unit, Winnemucca, a 19 yr old paint horse died Feb 4. Winnemucca served w/Mounted Unit 15 years at downtown events, local & State Memorials. Thank you for your service. Winnemucca will be sorely missed by all who met him.
