I don't know about you, but having a robotic arm that fits on my table, allows me to open it up and tweak it and still costs less than $5 000 sounds like the perfect deal. Meet the parol6. It's open-source and also precise enough for real work. This is what robotics education

π¦Ύ We are cooking something really awesome for our next PAROL robot. In this example you can see gravity compensated stepper motors. With our new custom made stepper drivers we can turn any stepper into high performance servo motor with FOC torque, speed and positon control. π¦Ύ

Over the past year, more than 250 Parol 6 Robots by @SourceRobotics have been built globally but not without hours of troubleshooting, numerous questions and a couple of fried PCB boards π₯². Tnkr intends to make the process of building the Parol 6 seamless for the next 1000

PAROL6 with EPGS-12 electric gripper: This is now the second electric gripper option for PAROL6. Compared to our SSG48 gripper, this one is more aligned as a replacement for a simple pneumatic gripper.

In this example we are using Umyo bracelet paired with our SSG48 gripper. uMyo is an open source wearable EMG sensor. It's single-channel, wireless, and collects muscle activity (EMG) data which we can use to control our gripper. Both are open source, links in the comments! π¦Ύπ¦Ύ

Six years ago, before we even became a company, we built our first open-source robotic arm: Faze4. It was a 15 kg behemoth and remains one of the most popular open-source 3D-printed robot arms. Image shows a custom build by university students, used as part of their thesis.
