When you remember money in times of need and not just lifestyle, there will be challenges. It’s the same with everything else. I can’t tell you what to invest in or where to start. But I will tell you that you need to nurture your relationship with money….

So I’ve been slowly learning myself and trying to develop a healthy relationship with money… As of late, I believe that it’s all about habit and psychology. Researching never stops. The irony of life is that you attract what you’re fixated on.

But my mentality changed. Instead of comparing I focused on psychology. The mind. What does money mean to these people, where do they place themselves in all of this. I’m not a numbers guy. I’m more of an emotional and sentimental guy….

I also started watching YT videos and yes, I was comparing. That discouraged me so much 😭 I remember @DividendPapi telling me to stop watching them because it’s all pumps and hype. He was right and I was new 😂 I never stopped watching the videos btw.

I followed @SoulFairy3 @pinkysithole17 @EMukumbo @DividendPapi and many more. At first I wanted to get their recommendations. Which makes sense when you know nothing. I really wanted these people to tell me what to do. Heck, I’d get on this app just to look for their tweets….

Asked if I sell clothes or phones since I’m in China. I don’t like doing that, I’ve never done that and I have no interest in that. I want frictionless ways to grow money. Then comes stocks… I knew zero about them so I started following people that know….

Like buying sneakers every month, I’ve spent a lot of money on sneakers 😭 I stopped counting when I passed the 100k mark… after this I started asking myself how can I grow more money. Personally I don’t like selling things. I say that because many people have….

Anyway, after finally moving to China I got to afford to take care of my family and buy things that I like. That’s when the ceiling cracked a little. I realized that I don’t have much time left and I need to grow this money. Also, I was developing expensive habits….

Fortunately, desperation and heavy challenges finally pushed me to do something I initially didn’t believe I could do. I’ve always wanted to work in China. But for so many years I didn’t think I could do it because I didn’t rate myself. I put myself down a lot….

I mention that because how you grow up really influences what you end up believing in, fearing, valuing and prioritizing. And for me, probably not different from many, I had a very bad relationship with money. I thought it was “lack” that was the problem but it’s “understanding”.

Firstly, I’ve spent the majority of my life in poverty. Abject poverty. Those who know me closely know I’m very new to this and honestly for so long I believed I never could achieve some of the things I have. This held me back mentally for so long….

Many of you have asked me for either advice or a breakdown on how I’m doing what I’m doing and honestly, I don’t think I have the answer you might be looking for. I don’t even think I can break it down as well as I see it in my head. But I’ll try something….

If you wanna start, start now. But please don’t think you’ll automatically advance like others. Comparison is a thief of joy. Stay the course and learn yourself through it. 🤲🏾🍲.
