The Sound + Music SIG is extending the deadline for the 2025 Claudia Gorbman Graduate Student Writing Award to Aug 15th. This award recognizes outstanding scholarship by a grad student in sound/music media, and the winning essay is published in Music, Sound, and the Moving Image.

Thank you to the other nominees, Arzu Karaduman and Seth Mulliken, for their time and commitment to the SIG, and thanks to everyone who voted. It's been my pleasure to serve in this position these last 3 years. I'm excited to see from afar what the SIG will do in the future.
