The Sonoma Coast AVA extends from San Pablo Bay to the border with Mendocino County. Known for it's cool climate & high rainfall, it’s warm enough to ripen grapes because most vineyards are above the fog line. Pictured: @HirschVineyards

The Durell Vineyard – owned by a Sonoma fave, @ThreeSticksWine – located in the Sonoma Coast as well as Sonoma Valley & Carneros, has warmer weather to the north & cooler weather to the south. The convergence & diversity create world-class pinot noir & chardonnay.

This month, we're spotlighting the Sonoma Coast AVA! This cool-climate viticulture is literally on the edge where grapes struggle to ripen on the margin of viability, creating a dynamic tension and flavorful intensity in their pinot noir & chardonnay. PC: Francesca Scalpi

Our favorite thing about chardonnay is its versatility; in Green Valley of the Russian River, the grape is a feature in racy sparkling wines, whereas in @AlexanderVlly, you're likely to find a rich still wine with tropical flavors. Tell us what you love about your favorite Chard!
