The solution: Following our recommendation, @trqmotorsport changed the process by locking in funds at the moment the VRF request is made, rather than upon fulfillment.

The insight: This was primarily due to the ability to preemptively call the fulfillRandomWords function and remove the ERC20 approval, should the outcome of the random function not be favorable.
