Toyo Solar, the Japanese company affiliated with VSUN (Vietnam Sunergy), the Viet-manuf location once for China's Sunergy, says it is moving forward with a 2-GW solar panel assembly plant somewhere in the USA. I'm always deep in the weeds.

Didn't even have this anywhere near my 2024 solar bingo card. Thin-film manufacturer First Solar has crystalline silicon patents and will investigate TOPCon patent infringement.

Interesting. LG is pausing construction in Arizona on its battery plant for ESS, but is continuing construction on its battery plant for EV.

I have another in-the-weeds question, possibly: I was once told that ingot pulling is temperamental and you want to do it in an area with few major vibrations. Isn't being next door to an international airport kind of against this logic?.

Hey. When animals are used for vegetation management on solar projects, is that considered "agrivoltaics" ??. I'm so deep into the weeds on this, I need help.

In today’s @latimes: My column calling out Gavin Newsom for flying to the Vatican to talk about being a climate champion and then flying home to gut community solar incentives. Can’t put climate first only some of the time. It has to be our defining lens:

I kind of get into the weeds on solar panel stats, so here are the important bits (to me) of the news that LONGi launched a module with new M11 wafer size: the new wafer is rectangular and the panel is about four inches longer than the previous big boy
