D Day Remembering my father and mother. He was part of the attack on Pegasus Bridge with the
6th Airborne Division as part of Operation Overlord he survived ( considered a suicide mission at the time) show here with some of his medals sadly some were lost - he had a 7 yr war 🥹

For those interested? The white door once led to infamous Nucleus Coffee bar in Monmouth Street 7 Dials a hangout when I was 20 years old. A bolt hole for villains, junkies, artists, poets musicians & prostitute's, one of which l & 2 friends befriended who was sporting a broken..

One of our lovely old streets that still survives! This Hanway Place/Street which faces Soho Street - l remember when it was still cobbled! It was also the location of the Soho based film Expresso Bongo (where it dissolves into Old Compton Street) its also home to the Spanish Bar

'Red light' Soho just before street prostitution was outlawed in 1954- this is on the corner of Meard Street/ Wardour Street looking towards Peter Street ( still red light indoors ) it captures the mood and drama of that time on the streets of Soho, & great picture👍

A bit of Soho history Freddie's night club (demolished) Charing Cross Road opposite Tin Pan Alley. Mill's was found dead in his car in 1965 at the back of the club in Goslett Yard. I was working around the corner, at the time in Soho Sq was it murder/suicide?
