And I’m not saying don’t play sports, just that you need to be smart about it and understand people won’t be as sympathetic about it like they were when you were a kid.

Its not that management/co-workers don’t accept that shit can happen, but if you get injured playing 40u their gonna be pissed because that torn ACL is most likely gonna affect the work place in some capacity even in an office setting.

Another point to add to 40u. Sports injuries as an adult carry a negative optics. I remember interviewing for white collar gigs wearing a boot for my torn Achilles and catching a bit of an attitude towards it. Point being there’s no place for sports injuries in the adult world.
