New work by @SnellRoodLab et al. finds diversity of #BumbleBees & #butterflies in Minnesota roadsides depends on floral diversity & abundance, not native status: https://t.co/pJUy67b45L #OpenAccess @fuzzybumblebee Photos: B. affinis (credit A.Darst); surveys (credit T.Mitchell)

Students in my animal behavior course enjoyed using DataClassroom to figure out how to setup statistical tests -- and many liked how it links directly to R code!

CROSSINGS has its first official review, and it's a doozy from @KirkusReviews, which bestowed a coveted ⭐️: "Goldfarb’s follow-up to Eager, his award-winning book on beavers, is another illuminating, witty work... an astonishingly deep pool of wonders." https://t.co/AybwRuPCfr

Happy to share that the chemistry of the black nectar of Melianthus is now published. It started with a discussion with @rachelvannette at a conference about this sp and finding out that it grew on the UC Davis campus, expediting the access to it. Haha!

March is just around the corner, and so are fox kits! With pup-rearing season coming up, foxes and coyotes are starting to move into dens like the one pictured above (note the condensation from a warm occupant forming the crystals on the snow above the den - someone’s home!).
