Smith County Road 26, between Farm-to-Market Road 850 and CR 21, is closed while Road and Bridge crews replace six cross culverts. The closure will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, November 3-7.

Smith County Road and Bridge crews have been repaving the driveway to the Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace, Constable and Tax Office in Lindale this week. These much-needed repairs will offer a smoother ride to your county offices.

A tornado expected to be an EF0 touched down near Lindale shortly after 3pm, Oct 28. Smith County Emergency Management Coordinator Brandon Moore said a tornado was seen off FM Road 2710, northeast of Lindale. A resident captured this video.

The Smith County Tax Office, Records Department and AgriLife are back open for business this morning after the water has been restored at the Cotton Belt Building in Tyler.

After being notified by the City of Tyler that the water would be shut off all day, the Cotton Belt is closing. The Tax Office, Record Services and AgriLife will reopen Thursday. Tax Office Substations in Noonday, Lindale and Troup remain open today.
