I think the most important thing to appreciate may be that, for whatever reasons, 4chan is early and radical, and not that Twitter is simply gay and lame and full of normie NPCs (another great example) who are often obviously late to the party.

I love Twitter as a platform and am not disparaging it here, but I wonder what to make of the fact that, e.g., mogging, -maxxing, cortisol spiking, etc., were already tired memes nearly a decade ago on /fit/ and BBF. Endless cases of this.

This actually happened recently except it was here and in reverse when twitter users discovered and got epically “””one-shotted”””” by years-old soyjaks imported by the 4chan diaspora.
sending someone from today armed with modern soyjaks back to reddit in 2012 would be like going back to the civil war with an AR-15.

Thing that seems corny or even "bad" at first but then you stop laughing and get really engrossed and, by the time it’s over, you can’t deny it was actually great despite (or maybe partly because of) the initial corniness/badness.
