This week the FOSS team have been busy running their annual "Mothers and Others" stall. This gives the children the chance to buy gifts for Mother's Day with their pocket money. They even get the chance to wrap them! Thanks to FOSS for organising this great fundraising event

This week Dahl class enjoyed their first cooking club session making cheese straws. Grandparents also visited the children in Donaldson class as part of their History project on toys, They shared toys and games, talking about what they were like in the past.

We all had a great time for World Book Day, reading our favourite books together, wearing comfy clothes and enjoying reading as a school.

This week, we celebrated World Thinking Day together with children in Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Brownies and Rainbows coming into school in their uniforms. Pre-school have also travelled around the world with Mr White the Polar Bear, and our library continues to be very busy.

Children in Year 4, 5 and 6 had an amazing day/night at the Young Voices concert in Sheffield this week. There were a number of special guests including:, Tommy Blaize from Strictly, M.C Grammar, Souparnika Nair with music from Hairspray, a Bob Marley medley amongst many others!

This week Pre-school have been wrapping up well and enjoying some time up in the forest school area of school. They had lots of fun exploring and enjoying the area.

The Sinnington School library is thriving with a record number of children attending last week! The librarians do a fantastic job every week and we are so grateful for the lovely donations from our wishing tree which has added some great books to the library and classrooms.

Now the weather has started to improve, the children in Pre-school have been enjoying their outside area even more! They have been working on their balance, building ramps and working together as a team.

Rowling Class had an amazing day at Ripon Prison and Court House. They looked at punishments through the ages, acted out a real court case of a local man accused of stealing. The children's behaviour was exemplary & Ripon Museum were very complimentary about them. Well done!

It has been great to welcome all the children back this week. Dahl class going on a trip to Jorvik Viking Centre and the DiG on Wednesday. All the children in Donaldson, Dahl and Rowling classes enjoying a drumming session each hosted by Ernie from Stephen Joseph Theatre.

What a great final week it has been! The school have visited the Pantomime at Scarborough Spa watching Cinderella;had Christmas dinner together; been to Sinnington church for our annual Christmas service & we also had a visit from Father Christmas.Have a great Christmas everyone!

What a fantastic week it has been in school with amazing performances of Nativity and Peter Pan by all our children from Pre-School to Year 6! All the children did a wonderful job. Well done everyone!!

This week the children decorated our Christmas tree and sang a few Christmas songs to start the Christmas season. FOSS hosted our Christmas Fair raising just under £1500. This highlights the fantastic community spirit we have at Sinnington. A huge thank you to everyone involved!

Dahl & Rowling Class competed in a inter house cross country competition on the football field adjacent to school. All the children did an amazing job & Miss Collier was very impressed with their resilience and stamina. The competition was very close with Neptune winning overall!

We enjoyed playing in the snow on Wednesday and building snowmen together.A huge thank you to all the families that bought books at the book fair as the commission earnt has enabled us to buy an excellent range of books for each class.Your continued support is really appreciated!

Today, we supported the great cause of Children in Need with all the children coming into school in non-uniform, donating a pound and purchasing cakes. Thank you to everyone who sent in baked goods and for all your support for this wonderful cause.

This week, we have launched our Book Wish tree, had a book fair and the children voted in to be our School Council, Eco Warriors and Librarians have all received their badges. It was also great to welcome families to our Half Termly award assembly today-thank you for your support

The Year 6s have been at East Barnby where they have worked well as a team and enjoyed activities such as: canoeing, bushcraft, seashore experience & climbing. In school, years 4 & 5 really enjoyed their Forest School sessions with Mrs Carrack and Poppy. Have a great half term!

All the children had a great time at our Halloween disco. It was fantastic to see so many costumes & a huge thanks to the FOSS team for organizing another great event. This week was our last Cooking Club session with the children making pitta pizzas, which all looked brilliant.

We had a fantastic Coffee Afternoon in support of MacMillan Cancer Research. Thank you to all our families that attended and supported. A huge thank you to Mrs Carrack who once again did an amazing job organising and running the event. We raised a fantastic £446.50.
