Harry only realizes that the worship around him has grown dangerous... and unusual... far too late. He is kidnapped by his 'own' cultists who then to try to indoctrinate him. They want Harry to understand that he's their Messiah. He is golden and pure.

Harry is seen as an almost religious figure. He is worshipped by countless wizards and witches who believe that he will usher in a golden age of prosperity. Harry ignores them all at first. He sees their behaviour as the typical hero worship he had to deal with in the past.

A cult forms around Harry Potter after he defeats Voldemort. No one has ever survived the killing curse before.... and now Harry has done that impossible feat twice. He sacrificed himself in the Forbidden Forest and that sacrifice protected everyone in Hogwarts. After the war,
