Federal bureaucratic rule changes can be quiet, but also insidious. What happens when Planned Parenthood has to bow out of federal funding meant to increase access to affordable contraception? 1/
In "Contraception Deserts: The Effects of Title X Rule Changes" @ProfCandis, @rebeccakreitzer, @KellenAKane & @TraceeMSaunders reveal the widespread ramifications of increasing constraints on family planning organizations https://t.co/UQcLUIeol5 [5/11]

Aight. Here’s my favorite 2 stories about Bill Russell. Both stories reveal how much of a humble human being he is. And one blows my mind because it dismantles what we think about the evolution of sports. A thread:
@michaelharriot @RealBillRussell Where is the thread? Love when you give us your take on these players. The KC Jones piece was outstanding. Had no idea.

One of my New Years resolutions for 2021 was to minimize car trips <5 miles. Not eliminate them, but try to reset the reflex of grabbing the car keys every time I was leaving the house. I've taken >300 incremental bicycle trips this year and learned a few things along the way.🧵

How might health technology like EHRs help advance health equity? Alongside identifying the true risks of tech, we also consider the possibility of real good. Grateful to those who helped bring this to life, esp amazing co-authors. @slucphsj @SLUResearch
Racism and other forms of discrimination are encoded in EHRs, according to a new article by @RozierSJ, @kavitapmd, and @DoriCross. The authors suggest how to turn EHRs into vehicles for health equity rather than bias

Not surprisingly, @JordanErnstsen did a fantastic job lecturing today! He was smart, well organized, and engaging (He used World Cup highlights to explain IR, I loved it). Our class was lucky to have him and learn from him. @BrentJSteele1 @UofUPoliScience

I went ahead and marked where our current 4 members of Congress live on the new map. I’m so glad we care so deeply about rural representation that we create a map to elect four members of Congress from the Wasatch Front! I'm sure the rural areas of the state feel loved. #utpol

The Devil went down to Utah, he was lookin' for a soul to steal He was in a bind cuz he was way behind And he was willin’ to make a deal He came across this young man playin’ piano in an emo band And as Satan walked up, the boy said to him, “Brother, let me shake your hand.”

I literally got a PhD because of David. I have known and loved him for a decade. He was the most patient, kind, and supportive person. I am broken for Sarah and their children.
Our heart breaks at the news that Dr. David Jones, Associate Professor in the Department of Health Law, Policy and Management, passed away yesterday in an accident. David was a much-loved member of our community. This is truly devastating news. [1/4] @BUSPH @BUSPH_HLPM

Very few people should organize, write, AND edit a book. Even fewer should do it during their last year of their PhD, but @m_falkenbach is not most people. She is incredible. Loved working w/ @CharleyWillison on our chapter and excited to see it in print! cc @UUtah, @Cornell
