Attend a college that wants you and values your qualities as a student-athlete. If a coach is showing interest don’t dismiss them just because it may be a college you’ve never heard of. Be open and entertain all options, you will be surprised at what you discover! #collegesoccer.

Be mindful of what you post on social media. Coaches are checking more than ever to help them get any insight into what you are like as a person. Character is a BIG deal, your talent alone won’t get you recruited. Ask…would I want to recruit me if I was a coach? #collegesoccer.

Understand D1 college soccer ID camps. If you’ve been “invited” it doesn’t mean that they are recruiting you. 9/10 they won’t be, you will just be there to fill numbers and $$. They do invite other college coaches though and you could get scouted by one of them. #collegesoccer.

Stand out from the crowd! Make your college coach emails specific to that college. Do your homework, talk about what you like about their program and why you feel the college is a good fit for you. Generic “cut and paste” emails don’t work! They show you’re lazy. #collegesoccer.

By not having a good GPA and SAT/ACT score, you’re severely limiting your options on where you will be able to attend college in the USA. Open as many doors as possible by having strong academics! 🎓 #collegesoccer.
