Death isn't the opposite of life. One might argue it's life's natural conclusion. What truly opposes life? The machine. #DeathAndLife #Philosophy #DeathAndLife #Philosophy

This is Daramulan - a spirit-being from southeast Australia, carved into stone over 2,000 years ago. Part emu, part man, he’s the son of the Sky Father Baime, a guide of initiates, and a bridge between worlds. 🔍 Read more in my Faithscape article: https://t.co/yJy4l8AVG5

Zero wasn’t a number until ~7th century in India. Before that, math couldn’t express it. The concept of numerical nothingness is newer than most religions. Quantifiable absence needed invention. This is so wild... And it’s wild to me that it’s wild because growing up with 0 makes

5 great leaps in cosmic history: Something from nothing (Big Bang) Life from molecules (first cell) Gene Machines (first animal), and Self Reflection (human meta-awareness) These events unfold over eons, with the fifth due this century. This is a once in a billion year event!

My question to you is: Do you think that last child exists? Not as fiction, but as a real part of the human condition? Do you believe someone can be born… truly and inherently evil?

He looked at the snowberries for a long time. Then, without a word, he handed one to a younger child. It wasn't a dare, nor was it a trick. He just passed it over with the faintest of smiles. He just wanted to see. So he watched, quietly & curiously, to see what would happen.

But there was another boy, standing apart from the group. He’d listened to the elder, and watched as the other children tasted the berries. He hadn’t tried any himself. But later, when no one was looking, he reached into the bush and picked a small handful of the white ones.

A third kid had seen him. Later that day, she picked a redcurrant and handed it to a friend. “Try this,” she said, grinning. Her friend popped it into her mouth as spat it out immediately, pulling a face while she laughed. It was just a joke, she thought. No harm done.

Another child, a quiet boy, waited until no one was around. He picked one of the redcurrants and popped it into his mouth. It tasted awful, so bitter and dry. He coughed and ran to the nearest stream for water. He didn’t tell anyone what he did, he just wanted to see for himself.

One of the girls took the lesson to heart. She stayed close to the bush, reminding the others, “only eat the blackberries.” She pointed out the good ones, and warned people away from the white fruit. She liked knowing the rules. She trusted them. She wanted everyone to be safe.

“These,” she said quietly, “are called snowberries. They won’t just upset your stomach - they can make you very sick. Remember, some things may look innocent - but appearances can be deceiving - these berries can kill, so don't touch them” The children nodded. They understood.

“These are blackberries. You can eat them, they're sweet & tangy.” She ran her hand along a lower branch. “These are redcurrants - sour little things. One bite & they'll dry your mouth out. Not dangerous, but disgusting.” Then she noticed some white berries in the undergrowth.

A group of children were playing at the edge of a field, where the brambles grew thick & wild. An elder, out picking fruit, saw the kids and called them over. She knelt by a tangle of berry bushes & said, “Come, I want to show you something". She pointed to each berry in turn.

Does real EVIL exist? Not man-made evil, from pain or trauma - I'm talking about something far colder. Do you think there are a number of people who were born cold & detached, with a desire to harm for curiosity's sake? Take a look at this short story and decide for yourself.

Your body replaces ~330 billion cells daily. In 7-10 years, you’re literally not the same person. Yet “you” persist. Identity isn’t made of matter. It’s made of patterns.

Each night, the sun god Ra, sails through the underworld (aka the Duat). While there, he battles serpents, encounters gods and dies, only to be reborn. To the Egyptians, this myth represents the shape of time, death & return. Read the full journey here: https://t.co/jFZhB6xViB

What if the shape of the body is actually the consequence of smaller patterns working out their dynamics in the physical world? Hear Mike Levin's fascinating speculation on Inner Cosmos: "Might we be surrounded with undetected minds?" https://t.co/GmDOHrSt8N #brain #anatomy
