Working on AI and multi-choice confidence. LLMs are significantly more confident than their percentage accuracy. AI is certainly a Dunning Kruger confident fool.

PBRF was a flawed system from the beginning. It forced Universities to prioritise research over teaching quality. The review announced by Jan Tinetti last year is now a full advisory group, cancelling the 2026 PBRF round.

My piece on Q&A https://t.co/XwIg4lGsyh Mostly got the point across. Though it's not an "AI task force" it's a forum for discussion.

I just asked #BingChat to estimate the likelihood of each sentence in a previous answer being correct by searching the content. It was able to identify the error and point to sources which disagreed with the output. This type accurate confidence needs to be automated.

Do the copyright and IP issues change for an AI which is trained to produce art by presenting the output to a modelled human observer. The AI artist has never seen any human art, merely presented it's pictures to a separate AI trained to mimic what humans like?

I've been listening to a lot of talk about ChapGPT. The most annoying part is the large number of commentators who do not understand Neural Networks, who then make strong claims about what it can and can not do. This is going to be a challenge for writing policy. #ChatGPT
