Working on 💾 https://t.co/3Rrv7GbxpS and ⛵ ShipUI (live soon)

Joined December 2010
Buidling ⛵️ Ship UI one of the main focuses was it shouldn't inflate your bundle size out of this world that can be hard to predict how it turns out but im quite confident with these sizes they are from the bundled size of console built with ship

@Apple @markgurman So to sum up:. Double the memory bus width, use next get LPDDR, it would be acceptable with limited memory . Use the N3P node . But then don't clock the cpu higher . And btw please refresh the studio display with a 120hz or higher refreshrate model.

@Apple @markgurman I know you can the tweak the clock to squeeze out 10-15% more but would also result in shorter battery life and more heat generation. Plus the addition of the new glass UI not either helps with battery life nor heat.

@Apple @markgurman This would also be a reason to buy an m5 - because the m5 then would feel much much faster under heavy load like games and AI. Especially given the roadmap for 2nm which would make N3P the clear next choice but would only give a 5-10% gen uplift over N3E.

This would make their laptops worth purely for AI workloads. They could also go to HBM3E but they are scares so fairly unlikely but then we could have 1.2TB/s and then next gen they could add another layer to give us 2.4TB/s . Btw its just theoretical speeds.

If Apple should make me buy their next gen laptops then M5 should get double the mem bus width and move to lpddr6 and 2.5D stacking would could get .1638.4 GB/s of memory speed on par or close to nvidia 5090 but with much much much more memory.

Material icons are the only variable icon font i know of.
fonts.google.com
Material Symbols are our newest icons consolidating over 2,500 glyphs in a single font file with a wide range of design variants.

I went down the rabbit hole of variable fonts. Had a thought if a font for writing can be variable icons must have it as well 👀. So I guess I need to build my own icon font from the ground up 😂.

We're relying on the generous efforts of @_phosphoricons where we 📦 only the icons you use in a font which leaves you with 5-20kb of icon font instead of 100s of unused kb. And you can mix and match styles regular, thin, light, fill and bold just by suffixing the ligature
