Soooo proud to be a PhRMA Foundation awardee. My group has been hard at working developing what we hope will be the next generation of lipid nanoparticles. Be sure to follow us to keep up with our work! 😊.

Today officially marks 1 year of being an Assistant Professor! In this past year, the team has accomplished a lot, learned a lot, and had even more fun! I couldn’t ask for a better group of trainees to be on this journey with. Here’s a thread of our random accomplishments.

I’m soooo incredibly proud of the team for trying new strategies to take control of their schedules. For pushing themselves to find new ways to be productive (both in academics and in their personal lives).

For the month of February, the folks in my lab focused on a critical skill— time management. We all tracked our time for 1 week, mapped out how we would PREFER to be spending our time, and then discussed strategies to get closer to our “ideal” schedule.

Did you hear BlackWomeninBME co-organizer, Dr. LaShan Hendrix, has taken her talents to the midwest? You can find this Blue Chip engineer working on vascular calcification in renal disease in The Blue Chip City at @UC_CEAS! Who should we feature next?

Today I asked my lab members to join me in a literature reading challenge. One scientific paper per day. Reading and keeping up to date on the scientific advances is a critical part of the research process. I’m super excited to see how much everyone reads at the end of January.
