lowkey I still think about the time a react channel asked me to edit for them and actively admitted people only watched their content because of the videos they reacted to, not for their commentary. They said so after I asked if I could make the videos more transformative

"Other people said they had a great time hanging out with me, so you must be lying" doesn't cover your ass when you were being one to somebody for no good reason.

Likewise just because you were treating someone awfully doesn't mean you shouldn't hold yourself accountable if that someone brings it up to you.

Also we don't need to know everything about your personal life, relationships, details, etc. In some cases just because you had a bad experience with someone doesn't mean they are overall a bad person that needs to be called out.

I get it can be very tempting, as we've seen some call out docs genuinely bring a lot of positive engagement towards those who post the docs, but I'd argue word of mouth after actually having a proper talk with someone goes a lot further.

Especially in this community where a lot of people are seemingly on the spectrum or hadn't experienced a lot of social situations yet or even just are overly anxious they allow the worst case scenario to overtake rational conclusions.

God this is so true. Genuinely sometimes having an actual talk with someone helps so much more than just assuming the worst intentions of another. Bad communication can happen, and no one is perfect when it comes to doing it properly.
