Ryale can sense the way sleep creeps in on Ophelia; she's not quite so tired yet, but she won't keep Ophelia from enjoying her alcohol-assisted rest. Her voice is soft as she talks, more for her own benefit than for Ophelia's now. "It will be."

If there's one thing they're built for, it's surviving; Ryale can feel it, deep within, deeper than even the Light. Being Risen just gives you a little boost, but they're well-equipped to do what they need to do; Ryale's just still figuring out what that is. +
It's a setback. She's survived setbacks before, but none have ever been so dramatic. Nevertheless, she'll survive this too. To do what must be done there will have to be sacrifices, and no one is more suited for sacrifice than Ophelia the Mad. She holds the bottle against her...

... endless void. Ryale stretches out along the floor, looking up at the ceiling, and simply says "We're gonna live forever, Ophelia; there'll be time, sooner or later." There's a somberness in that promise; forever is a long, long time. Ryale already misses the rum.

Neither of them was quite the person they should've been. Life had seen fit to cast them adrift from where they ought to be, and so they floated from place to place, occasionally bumping into one another for brief little moments of reprieve before they went back to the... +
Ophelia stares into the bottle. In another life this would be a single ridiculous night to break up the monotony, and in the morning she'd return to her fireteam and things would continue as usual. She never thought she'd miss those bar runs. She didn't know what she had.

She couldn't imagine how she'd stay sane if their situations were reversed; her only solace is that, maybe, Ophelia's thinking the same thing. "If not, then I'll just have to drag you away from your den more often, so you can have some fun. Next time though, we can go... +

"There's gotta be *some* time you can get away from the work and the danger." Ryale regards the bottle again before offering it to Ophelia once more. She, too, had spent plenty of time away from the Vanguard, but she led a very different life than the one Ophelia described. +
"It's not practical," she remarks. "Most days I'm in protective equipment handling dangerous chemicals or things that have touched dangerous chemicals. And if not that then... I'm in bad places. Armored robes are my best defense." When she dressed up she liked to do it in...

"It was a very pretty outfit. You should dress up more often; I find that it's quite fun, even if no one else sees."

She laughs and nods. "Well, it definitely had some bumps and stumbles, but hopefully it's ending on a high note." Her eyes wander from the cabinet, to the booze, to Ophelia, and then off into the middle-distance where, somewhere deeper into the room, sit their drenched clothes. +
"You had fun, but it felt like I was going to melt out of my skin." As inconvenient as it was, to be drenched in snow and then warmed up was a nice refresher. It shook the nerves right out of here. Now, she was just tipsy, and in good company. "It was nice to dress up, though.

... still the plan; I'm a woman of my word. I promised you a fun night out, and now I've promised you free booze. Two for two."

Ryale smiles as she takes the bottle into her hands. She runs her thumb across the label as if reading it, and then raises it to her lips for another sip—it occurs to her that this bottle won't last much longer, and now her eyes are on the cabinet again. "Of course that's... +
"I thought your plan was to walk out before they charge you." Ophelia presses the bottle into Ryale's hand, deciding it will be better served in her custody. That way she'll slow her descent into silliness. "Was that all talk after all?"

It would've been a waste of good booze if she hadn't, but also very amusing. Ryale stretches out, reaching to poke the bottom of the bottle idly, right where the magnet is. "Damn. Guess that means we should be careful not to knock the others over."
Ophelia nearly turns the bottle over to examine the bottom but thinks better of it and quickly. Instead she holds it over her head. Fashioned to the bottom is a magnet and to the bottom of the minibar is a complimentary magnet. "You don't need plates or motion detectors.

Anything's more comfortable than freezing outside, and the drunkenness helps too, but the floor is definitely soft; it had better be, considering the price they'd paid for the room. Ryale makes a little 'hmm' of acknowledgement, and then shifts to look at the bottle in... +
"Anything's better than a crowd." The floor is surprisingly comfortable, although it might be the blanket she's wrapped in. Without much food in her system, just drink, it won't be long before she's drunk. This will feel worse in the morning. Ophelia leans in and stares at the...

She chuckles and shakes her head. "Ugh, yeah. You'd probably be paying even more, *and* you'd have to put up with all that crowd while you're doing it. Up here, at least, the company's much nicer." She leans against the side of the cabinet lazily as they sit on the... +

"You can just hold it out the window and it'll get icy enough." If you ask Ryale, they deserve to overindulge a little after the night they've had. It wasn't the worst it could've gone, but it wasn't the best either. Might as well savor the drink while they're here. +
"I'd be shocked if it weren't overpriced... and they don't even offer ice." Ophelia takes the bottle in both hands and stares at its contents sloshing about. If she's too quick with this then she'll end up sick. Nevertheless, the drink calls to her and she indulges in a much...

... they're charging double what it's worth, no matter how nice it is." It's not quite the fancy mixed drinks they could've had at the bar, but the experience here is so much more fun. She smiles and offers it back to Ophelia.
