New Magic Number are on YT now (link 👇). All you need to know about EOE from the early 17Lands data. It's easy to just say Green is good - but there is more to it. Looks like we have another format where a lot of color pairs are solid - you just need to know how to play them.

Magic numbers are live and we are diving into the early data for the Edge of Eternities - the episode you seem to enjoy the most - and for the right reason - what better way to get a good grasp of the new format?. Link below

I have achieved some cooking today. Romesco with some giant cous cous with homemade mint pesto, roast courgette, puy lentils. Sort of cold and warm meal and it was delicious. Romesco is incredible - check it out - takes some time to make but worth the investment.

Log here: Interesting thing about the format - it is what I call a mid-term format. Games don't ave explosive starts and you spend time developing the engine but once it starts - it snowballs hard, so they don't last long. I had one long game here. 2/2.

🏆 This deck is another example that card advantage wins more reliably than raw power (tho had that too). Most games was me, with 7 cards in hand, watching frustrated opponents with 2 cards. And yes, their starts were more explosive. And? . 1/2

Take home message: you should start looking carefully at the green cards in the packs you are passing. And maybe put that extra weight on their value as they are in a significantly better color. It's not yet a "force G" format but we are not far off. 10/11.

Dubious Delicacy gets the best removal of the set award. It's one of only 2 cards with WR > Galactic Wayfarer. W is represented by All-Fates Stalker, O-ring on a stick that can blink something for warp. R gets the Terrapact Intimidator, the 2 man 4/3 (or 2/1 + 2 landers). 9/11.

As for uncommons, UG's power is seen. 7 cards in top 10 fit in the UG deck! It also suggests the U-shaped mana curve for it - with a mix of cheap (<3 mana) and chonk - 4 massive creatures, with card selection (Hound) and cheap interaction (Resolve) to bridge that gap. 8/11

Cryogen Relic is the outstanding U common, as Orbital Plunge is in R. Knight Luminary and Banishing Light are grreat in W but no B card made top 10. Depressurize is 11th, and my guess is - it will go up as the format stabilises and G will be more contested. 7/11.

Galactic Wayfarer was predicted to be great and predictions were right. Gene was the darling of invested players and it delivered so far. But I don't think many people had Germinating Wurm, Thawbringer in the top 10 of all commons. Mind: a lot of it is piggybacking. 6/11.

How do individual cards look like? Remember, data for first days is bad quality (we are still discovering what to do in the format) and samples are smallish, but it is enough to give good indication of card power. And top 10 commons have 6 G cards: you can't ignore that. 5/11

Let's look at the color pairs. Simic, a perrenial pariah of the color pairs just a couple years ago, is looking imperious. With other G pairs, WB and WU lined behind it. BR, UB, WR, UR lag behind for now. Early days but the GU advantage is large enough to make note of it. 4/11

Because. Just glance over this graph. G is winning a lot more than anything else. To the point where given its average popularity and outlier power level - it is worth (soft) forcing. Additionally W, avoided by 17L folk - is doing quite fine. Maybe worth giving it a shot?. 3/11

First things: color drafting popularity by 17L users. Blue is the darling of 17L users. And W is slightly avoided so far. Not a large disproportion, but one that is significant. R and G are drafted as expected in a balanced set. This will certainly change in next few days. 2/11

First days of 17Lands data for EOE draft are out. Treat those with caution but don't ignore them. And if one thing is clear: Green rules supreme. As a color, as a collection of individual cards, it is clearly best and at the same time - underdrafted compared to its power. 1/11

🏆 Turns out 4 Edge Rovers in first 5 picks is a good sign of things to come. Some tough games but managed a 3rd 7-1 in a row. Reminder to enjoy your good streaks!. Eusocial Engineering was incredible in this build. Lacked big things so go wide was the answer. 1/2
