It’s our job to make our people understand that it is not Black people or communities of color who are responsible for our suffering.

It’s our job to speak up in moments like this and call out Trump’s lies. It’s our job to take the pain so many of our people are experiencing and direct it at the people who are responsible for it: the billionaires.

This is not new, and this is not acceptable. For decades, those at the top have used racism to make sure those of us who are white stay silent, separated, or antagonistic towards the movement for justice fighting for a better world for all of us.

Trump’s aim is to clearly build a fake narrative that white people are under attack both in the US and around the world. We reject this and will continue the fight to win multiracial democracy both here and overseas.

White South Africans, despite these fake claims, own over half the land in the country while only making up seven percent of the population.

Afrikaners have a long, anti-Black history in the region, implementing and enforcing the apartheid system, with many continuing to oppose the Black-led ANC and other pro-democracy and pro-racial justice movements in the country.

A mere week ago—on the very same day that the Trump Administration stripped Afghan exiles of refugee rights—the Trump Administration granted white Afrikaners refugee status under the false pretense of “anti-white discrimination.”.

As Trump’s coalition is actively working to cut healthcare for millions, he is intentionally diverting the conversation from the needs of working people of all races to a fake “white genocide.” We see this for what it is: a classic tactic to peel working white people away from.

Fake claims of mass killings and land seizures have been part of white supremacist conspiracy theory for years in South Africa, and these far-right claims have now come from the mouth of the President of the United States.

Today, Trump led a televised ambush of South African president Cyril Ramaphosa. In the Oval Office, Trump confronted Ramaphosa with a rehearsed barrage of falsified evidence about “white genocide” in South Africa.
