I agree that Gramps is more accurate and appreciate the kind words Gramps. My model is new and still tweaking with it so hopefully it will improve. I have had mixed results (some great and some bad) so far.

(1/2) I definitely think there is a better way but if you place teams in classifications solely by ratings then it would encourage teams to do worse in the regular season to be in a lesser class giving them a better chance of winning state.

Not a good idea for high school sports. My numbers are created to hopefully shed light on teams that don’t receive the recognition they deserve using an unbiased approach to compare all teams even with no common opponents and different class size. It’s also fun to speculate.
