Very tragic loss, these language programs were amazing and covered subjects untaught anywhere else on Earth outside of their Native areas, was a huge soft power asset.
Most incredible about this is that IU-Bloomington has long been the no. 1 university in the world for teaching Asian languages and cultures, with many programs not found anywhere else. They're slashing many of IU-B's most distinctive programs without any thought or debate.

This is blatantly untrue. Agree or disagree, but the whole point of the term is explicitly a way of including Black, Native, Jewish, etc. Americans in historic American culture.
