The role of US in causing political instability in Japan goes way back to 60s. Even Shinzo Abe was getting assassinated in elections wasn’t normal, he tried making Japan self reliant but someone couldn’t tolerate him coming back to power hence the assassination.

The liberalisation was a forced measure because of the creepy policies of the Congress. Manmohan Singh ji was in the finance ministry/RBI since 1970s and successive policies of congress ensured doom to economy hence the loan from IMF and liberalisation was part of that loan.
The biggest irony of today's politics is that the section of society that gained the most from the liberalization of 1991 and subsequent economic policies - the ones who got IT jobs, got into IIMs and IITs, go for foreign vacations each year, have settled abroad etc - (1/2).

We need hard task masters in the committees/boards/corporations dealing with the companies. The western companies must be penalised beyond norms, tell them the power of Indian bureaucracy and it has to be done in mission mode & rewards such officials who get this work done.
