Some neat little doodads from UFO figure Wayne Sulo Aho. First one is a revised 90s printing of his 1957 booklet “Mojave Desert Experience” that he sent to fellow contactees Howard & Connie Menger. The second one is an original handout booklet from the 1966 Eatonville UFO

Just came up with an article title so incredible that it’s now necessary for me to write the article.

One of my favorite pieces of UFO jacket art. As a Tucson fella, I’m a sucker for the UFO and saguaro cactus sub genre. This book is strange, but it was quite helpful for my articles about George Hunt Williamson, Dorothy Martin, and the Laugheads. Norkin was all up in that crowd

Last little thing I wanted to share is the publishing of Kenneth Arnold’s UFO book “The Coming of the Saucers”. Palmer published the whole book in a serialized fashion, across several issues. The book is pretty uncommon. In this 1959 magazine it says it’s being published within

An early APRO ad. This is from before Jim and Coral Lorenzen moved to Tucson, AZ. The official APRO office is an old home that’s about 15 mins away from me. I drive by it sometimes to stare. The lady that lives there isn’t super stoked when people do that. Ask me how I know.

An add for George Hunt Williamson’s “Other Tongues, Other Flesh”. This is interesting because the book is dated 1953, but it ACTUALLY came out in 1957. That’s why it’s in this 1959 magazine as a relatively recent release that is being advertised. Why did Williamson backdate the

Barker would often gift his newsletters to subscribers that purchased other books or things from his company. He had several different newsletters that overlap in confusing ways. I have the very first issue of his Spacecraft News publication, but someone else posted an entirely

A little Gray Barker spread. Again, an indescribably important ufological figure. Barker put out allllllllllll kinds of wonderful books, newsletters, facsimile reprints, etc, through his Saucerian publishing company.

A story about the William Rhodes UFO photos taken in Phoenix in 1947, at the same time as the Roswell shenanigans and Kenneth Arnold sighting. The Rhodes pics are super interesting, because they show a heel shaped craft similar to what Arnold described. Cool story, dig in if you

This magazine issue is entirely full of A+ material. It’s incredibly good. Starts with an editorial by Ray Palmer. If you don’t know who Palmer is, you’ve gotta go down that path. Easily one of the most important ufological figures. He’s integral to so many of the mid-century

A note about the cover photo. Cool to get confirmation on where it was taken.

Both of them were beautiful humans. Visually striking. This isn’t the best photo of Howard, but he’s got a big fun smile here. He normally looks like a svelte James Franco in 1950s clothing. Cosi bello.

This 1959 copy of FLYING SAUCERS is from the ufological reference library of 1950s contactee Howard Menger. This issue features Howard and his lovely wife Connie on the cover, and includes an article they are featured in called “Space Ships and the People They Visit”.

Richard Haines put out several very interesting books. One of my favorites from him is “UFO Phenomena and the Behavioral Scientist”. This is another cool one from him, it’s solely about Korean War sightings. For some reason, the Korean War sightings are less talked about than the

I found out recently that many people outside of Arizona don’t know about “sand rubies”. We have little translucent red garnets in our playground sand here. Therapeutic to sit down in the sand and find them.

Here you can see he labeled some of the speakers as being “Gov” members. This was his private conference booklet, he presumably wasn’t marking these things for anyone else’s eyes.
