Roblox has been knowingly allowing fraud and theft to run unchecked on their platform for 4 months, spitting in the face of creators. We've told COUNTLESS @Roblox staff about these issues, but they refuse to fix anything. Here's @KreekCraft talking about it: (Thread 🧵) #Roblox

One of the biggest problems with Roblox is that they ignore serious issues until it all blows up in their face. Having DMCA in place alone is NOT protecting creators, it's the absolute bare minimum that they can do legally.

[12] I genuinely didn't want to make this post. I've given them chance after chance to fix this, and I've only wasted my time trying to go through the right channels for literal months of my life. How long do we have to take this abuse? Enough is enough.

[11] Roblox has failed its creators in every conceivable way and in doing so, they have left an extremely sour taste in our mouths. As a result of all of their failures, I think that they need to be investigated for their handling of DMCA and how they benefit from IP theft.

[10] As a reminder to everyone, Roblox takes a 70% cut of every sale from UGC creators unless you price your UGC higher. Because of the theft, we've been unable to do this as we get undercut and outsold by the stolen copies every single time. What the HELL are we supposed to do?

[9] Even with DMCA being our only way to get these stolen copies down, Roblox is SLOWWW to respond. This allows thieves to steal a big chunk of revenue while we have to wait. I am STILL personally waiting for them to look at my takedown requests from 1 month and 18 days ago.

[8] When we have successful takedowns, many thieves have been creating fraudulent counternotices using fake names and addresses, so we can't sue them. Roblox accepts this and tells us that the only way they'll keep the stolen emote off-sale is by suing the thief. See the irony?

[7] Every one of us has tried to take stolen work down through legal means (DMCA), but Roblox has consistently falsely rejected a concerning amount of creators requests.

[6] But it doesn't stop there. The owner of the vr group was never banned, never moderated, and we witnessed him moving money from his group several times before it was locked. They have allowed him to get away with fraud, and continue to do so along with many others like him.

[5] Worse, sources have told me that Roblox knew beforehand that Kreek (Who is Roblox's biggest content creator) would be making the video on vr'. This begs the question whether they're actively trying to hide this problem from the community, knowing that they can fix it.

[4] The ONLY thing Roblox has done since August is lock the vr' group mentioned in @KreekCraft's video coincidentally hours before he posted. You can't visit the group, but emotes from it continue to sell in bestselling every day. Is Roblox profiting from stolen work? 🤔

[3] So many people have had their income noticeably impacted by this. One creator in particular has had 1 emote stolen over 100 times. So what has Roblox done about the problem in FOUR MONTHS? Absolutely nothing. They've completely ignored it despite many staff knowing about it.

[2] Ever since Roblox released UGC Emotes back in August, animators have had their work stolen over, and over, and over again. In 1 single month, I had my emotes stolen and re-uploaded 49 times (that I even know of).

@Roblox I’m genuinely tired of receiving DMCA counter-notices filled with forged information and poorly written excuses claiming they deserve to have stolen assets restored to the marketplace. Vr’ wasn't the only asset thief in marketplace. YOU HAVE TO BAN ALL THESE THIEVES
