The death of Mr. Floyd is deeply disturbing. The officers' actions and inaction are inconsistent with the training and protocols of our profession and the LVMPD.
I can assure you the LVMPD will strive each day to continue to build your trust.
The LVMPD stands with our community and censures any police brutality. As we continue to facilitate spontaneous and planned protests, violence or property damage will not be tolerated.
The Metro family is growing. I am overjoyed to meet my third grandchild (my first granddaughter). Little Madi is a blessing to our family. Both of her parents serve our community with LVMPD.
Tonight our Air Support unit was called out to a serious injury ATV accident near Golde Butte for a helicopter rescue. We utilized our new H145 helicopter for a successful hoist rescue - the first with an H145 in the United States. Thanks to this crew!

My heart goes out to the
@unlv
family following today’s horrific shooting that claimed the lives of 3 people. Our first responder community demonstrated a quick, cohesive response which undoubtedly saved additional lives. We will be working through the night to provide answers.
We just graduated 33 new police officers today! Congratulations to you all, I wish each of you a long, safe and prosperous career.

Enzo's Rescue 🐶💙
All parts of our incredible department including SWAT, K9, Patrol, Air Support, Dispatch, and many others worked to close roads and airlift Enzo to the emergency clinic.
Thanks to the talented medical workers who stabilized and treated Enzo, he is alive today.
Very proud to open the Family Justice Center with all our community partners. This center will provide resources to victims of domestic violence, sex assault and human trafficking while also reaching our at risk youth.
What a special Law Enforcement Appreciation Day event!
LVMPD celebrated with officers from both agencies before the 1973 merger as part of our 50th anniversary.
Several retired p#’s attended including

(We are almost at 20,000 p# now!)
Great morning at
@SphereVegas
delivering the State of the Department.
Violent crime ⬇️ 9.93%
Sexual assault ⬇️ 19.8%
Homicide ⬇️ 12% (and one of the highest solve rates in the country).
There is still much work to be done & we aren’t letting up. I’m proud to be your Sheriff.
Groundbreaking! The Southern Nevada Army National Guard Firearms Range will include moving targets. The state-of-the-art facility will also be utilized by local law enforcement. This is a great partnership.
Thank you
@danawhite
and
@ufc
for partnering with
@lvmpd
for a multi-year youth mentoring program for kids ages 12-17. I stopped by
@FightCapital
to check out the program and meet some of these great kids.
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
This afternoon, we graduated seven police dispatcher professionals from class 01-2023!
There is a tough but rewarding career ahead.
Sheriff McMahill asked the graduate's families to help them survive and thrive over their 30-year careers!
Congrats!
Loved stopping by the annual Christmas party at Sportsman’s Royal Manor off Bolder Highway. Once upon a time this was a high crime apartment complex. We worked with the owners to make property improvements and evict problem tenants. Today it’s a thriving community.
Bolden Reunion! Bolden Area Command is named after Larry Bolden, the first Black Deputy Chief with
@lvmpd
. Today nearly every former Bolden Captain gathered to break bread and share some laughs with Chief Bolden’s daughter, Carol. There’s a lot of history here.
We’ve been working on the Super Bowl since the moment Las Vegas was announced as the host city. Thousands of first responders are working collaboratively to make this a great, safe event. 🏈
Congratulations to all

Sheriff Kevin McMahill stopped by the legendary

this evening for a welcome reception and to chat about the community and policing with humanity 💙
Top Cop Awards in Washington DC. Very proud of our LVMPD officers continuing to be true to their oath to protect and serve. Thank you retired DC Neville for accepting on behalf of your step son Shay.
My family and I want to thank everyone who came out to Police Memorial Park for Law Enforcement Appreciation day. I am proud to be the Sheriff of a community that overwhelmingly supports our officers.
