Sheriffs had a constructive meeting with @GovernorHobbs and we look forward to working with her and #AzLeg on strengthening law enforcement around the state, including increasing funding for Hobbs' local border security fund and pay parity for deputies.

While @GovernorHobbs didn't mention sheriffs in her SOTS, we stand ready to work with her and the #AzLeg to bring real public safety throughout Arizona. As @votewarren noted, voters overwhelmingly passed Prop. 314 and want real action on border security. #arizonapromise

On 9/8/23, a Navajo County Deputy assigned to the Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on I-40 at MP 258 in the Winslow area. Julio Ramirez-Felipe (35), was arrested and booked into Navajo County Jail for Assisting in Human Smuggling Organization.

Az Sheriffs Assoc president @rhodes845 and colleagues from 10 counties meet with @GovernorHobbs to discuss border security, fentanyl trafficking and search and rescue efforts performed by counties. It was a good discussion today. More is to come.
