His team is doing their best, and with just the right attacks, they'll win this. But Keith doesn't notice one of the fighter jets getting behind him. Doesn't realize in time before a beam shoots straight into Red, knocking him around, causing him to bang his head, +

Heartbreak, confusion, and worry, Keith isn't sure how he's in a reality that isn't his. And what is happening to his timeline? To the Keith he took over? Was that Keith now living his life? --- Keith is in the midst of a battle, fighting the Galra and Zarkon's forces. +

Worst yet, Lance isn't his boyfriend any longer. They're companions in arms, but by the way Lance reacts around him, and the surprise from the others, he and Lance don't have that strong a connection. And even more so, it appears as if Lance is chasing after Allura. +

That is the same voice, same worry, Keith hears when he wakes in a completely different environment. Where he's suddenly in an oddly shaped cockpit, seeing metal lions fly around, in -space.- Keith isn't where he was last. +

Until one day, while out on normal flight drill, the planet is attacked. Simulation is now real life, & Keith is trying to survive. Then he's hit, crashed, & passing out. The last thing Keith hears is Lance's voice, worried & stressed, calling for him through the helmet. +

At first, Lance had been the tether to keep him in the school. One of the only reasons Keith gave it all a fourth or fifth chance. But eventually, Lance simply became the comforting piece in Keith's life. And along with Shiro, and Adam, he had a home, a place to feel happy. +
