US taxpayers are footing the bill for Israeli settler-colonialism in more ways than one. A new video by @ajplus highlights how American charities are funding the eviction of Palestinian families. https://t.co/p5VhvMNDRh Watch, then take action: https://t.co/mFryvVpeq8

The hunger strikers could start dying any minute, any hour, any day now. Their deaths would not only be at the hands of the British govt, but everyone in the movement who failed to take action. Toolkit (US): https://t.co/HOXWPl2rHF Toolkit (UK):
If the movement as a whole does not create an absolute crisis for the ruling class, these hunger strikers are going to die in the next 24-48 hours--and if the movement allows that to happen, a dark precedent will be set that we can never come back from.

The cognitive dissonance from SF. There are political prisoners in the six counties right now who have been on remand for over FIVE YEARS. Both them and these hunger strikers are fighting for the freedom of a people living under occupation.

Good Shepherd Collective has been putting out consistently amazing work on their new publication that I think is really worth digging into. From breakdown of settler violence in the OPT to personal reflections they’ve honestly been making some incredibly high quality work.
READ: Ameed Faleh’s @AmeedIsTyping latest article for The Call, in which he describe the experience of traveling through Israeli checkpoints throughout the West Bank and the effects these barriers have on daily life, as well as the perception of normalcy. https://t.co/BaFHR9YvNJ

At the request of the illegal “Havat Maon” settlers, Israeli forces detained five Palestinian children, aged 8–12, for gathering wild vegetables and flowers near the settlement.

Hysterical nonsense. Around 170 Jews have been killed in antisemitic attacks outside Israel since 1950. By contrast, 27,000 Jews have been killed by the resistance in Israel and the occupied territories over the same period. Being a colonist in an apartheid state is the danger
Jews, wherever they live and whatever they do, are targets. It may be difficult for those who believe they live in a rational world to grasp. But irrational hatreds exist. And Jews are murdered outside of context | @AnshelPfeffer

33 years ago, Israel tried to erase 415 Palestinian leaders by dumping them in no-man's land. Instead, Marj al-Zuhour became a symbol of sumud. They built a community in the snow and refused to disappear. A year later, most returned. The exile meant to break them became legend.

Most of the deportees eventually returned in stages through 1993. But Marj al-Zohour revealed the tools of imperialism and colonialism: British Mandate emergency laws, administrative detention, and collective punishment. These tools remain in use today.

Remember, this happened during the Madrid peace process. Rabin's government, often called "moderate," ordered these deportations. They expose what "peace negotiations" mean in practice: unchecked violence in the face of the "international law".

Beyond survival, they found purpose: they established a camp university and volunteered in nearby villages. Doctors were treating the sick, elders resolving disputes, young men helping with farm work. Organizing wasn't just practical, it was a way to resist despair & stay united.

They organized a 25-member leadership council and formed over 20 committees: engineering, food supply, education, medical care, arts and culture - drawing on the diverse skills of doctors, teachers, engineers, and clergymen among them.

The deportees organized themselves at Marj al-Zohour. They held press conferences, documented their ordeal, and demonstrated sumud. What was meant to break them became a symbol of Palestinian resistance.

Israel expected the deportees to disappear into Lebanon. Instead, their refusal to move became a game-changer. As al-Hasanat wrote: Israel failed to gauge "the human quality" of those they faced—"an exceptional group that acted on principles, even if that exacted a price."

The 415 Palestinians refused to enter Lebanon—not just because Lebanon blocked them, but as a deliberate strategy. They feared entering Lebanese territory would undermine their demand to return home. Hamas cofounder al-Rantisi declared on camera: We stay until we go home.

Two days later, UN Security Council Resolution 799 demanded their "safe and immediate return." Israel ignored it. The deportees remained in the snow while the world watched and did nothing meaningful. ( https://t.co/iSplR4JOdY )

Many were doctors, engineers, academics, and religious leaders — all accused of being terrorists, of course. While this was a clear collective punishment, prohibited under the Fourth Geneva Convention, Israel kept the course.

Educator Husni Muhammad al-Burini, one of Hamas's most senior leaders in the northern West Bank, published a detailed memoir titled "Marj al-Zuhur" twenty years later. He recounted that the deportees stayed in high spirits during their deportation, singing Islamic anashid.

On this day, Dec 17, 1992, Israel deported 415 Palestinians to Marj al-Zohour in Lebanon, one of the largest mass deportations in zionist history. They stayed stranded in freezing tents for over a year. Here, they were setting up the tents in the cold Lebanon weather. A 🧵

Israel has ordered the seizure of over 500 dunams of Palestinian land in Sileh al-Dhahr, Al-Fanduqomiya, and Al-'Attara south of Jenin, and Barqa northwest of Nablus. The targeted areas include agricultural lands and farms that families depend on for their livelihoods.
