Ards Peninsula: 150 (m2), pop: 25,000
Gaza Strip: 141 (m2), pop: 2.2m
(NI pop: 1.9m)
Imagine over 8,000 bombs being dropped on Ards Peninsula in 25 days, 88x the pop, there is no clean water, sanitation, medical supplies, electricity, or communication, and you can't get out.
@Shellmccabe
Imagine a gang from the Ards peninsula paraglided into Belfast and went door to door murdering 1,500 people and taking 250 of them hostage back to the peninsula. Then spent the next few week’s launching rockets at Belfast from primary schools.
@Resaonable_Man
so you think it's ok to bomb the peninsula, while not allowing anyone to leave because a gang committed war crimes in Belfast. Real reasonable.
@Shellmccabe
Good description Michelle. I likened it to the size of Lough Neagh in acreage when this catastrophe started, with a larger population than the North.
@KinleyDesmond
the replies are ...eh.. interesting. The point was to give perspective not justification; to give a local sense of how densely populated it is, a point that has been ignored by the warmongers to justify the unjustifiable. Empathy is dead and buried beneath the rubble.
@roger_gilpin
I wouldn't have forced a million ppl from the rest of NI into the peninsula on top of the million already there, then controlled if/when they could leave and what products and services could go in.
IOW I wouldn't have created the conditions for an terror network to emerge.
@Shellmccabe
Your point re area size and population is silly. Sure Gaza is densely populated but so are many places in the world. Take New York City not far behind Gazas density per square mile (Gaza C 36 : NYC 29).
