Preserving purity and general weaponizing of religion and culture hinder access to correct information on SRHR services. Most are biased against women and girls and their Autonomy- @SheiratN An intersectional lens is important when navigating these issues. #SRHR4ALL

We often times shy away from even explaining menstruation to girls but are quick to say go to your senga” for “pulling”. We need to do better as communities when speaking to girls about their SRH.

. @SheiratN goes on to question why culture is shy to talk about things like menstruation but openly emphasizes the role of a “Ssenga”. She further questions whether marriage is more important than the autonomy of the young females. #SRHR4All #UnlockMySRHR @SRHRAllianceUg

Mental health isn’t separate from the HIV response. How do we expect people to stay in care, take meds while carrying the weight of stigma, trauma, and isolation? We need systems that care for young people instead of asking why they are struggling #IAS2025

Day Two of #IAS2025 has ended and I’m still thinking about the DPP (dual prevention pill). Learning about it with @apha_sa was everything. A game-changer in giving young women and girls control over both HIV and pregnancy prevention.

Day One of IAS is done and one thing’s clear: leaving young people out of SRHR and HIV info and services doesn’t help the movement. It only holds us back. #IAS2025 @SRHRAllianceUg @HerVoiceFund

#IAS day one has come to an end and has made me question once again if we are doing enough to end AIDS by 2030? This can still be done by ensuring that communities remain the beating heart and strategic brain of the response.

Why is it that when HIV services are disrupted, girls and young women are the first to suffer? Last year, adolescent girls were twice as likely to contract HIV as boys. I AM calling for an end to gender inequality and GBV to stop HIV transmission. #IAM @Yplus_Global @unicef_aids
