A film I shot for @AP_Climate and @StanleyConnect. It was inspiring to see first-hand the sincere efforts of Kochi's Mangrove Man to save his land from the adverse impacts of climate change. #climatechange #mangroves #coastalerosion #naturebasedsolutions.
Known locally as “Mangrove Man”, T. P. Murukesan has turned to planting mangroves along the shores of areas around Kochi, a city in the southern India state of Kerala, to counter the impacts of rising waters on his home. “Only these can save us,” he said.
